Part I: Consider you are the chief of police and need to hire a new detective from the ranks of patrol. How do you begin?
What process will you use?
What traits will you look at in each candidate?
In addition to answering these questions, write a brief job description for this position.
Part II: Consider you are applying for the position of detective in your agency.
How will you prepare?
What personal traits will you highlight and what will you portray as reasons for you to be selected?
What investigative techniques will you advance in the investigative unit in this agency?
For this Assignment, write a 2–3 page paper using at least 2 outside sources. Use APA format when citing your source(s). Include a cover page and reference page.

A separate page at the end of your research paper should contain a list of references, in APA format. Use your textbook, the Library, and the internet for research.
